Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul performer, writer and actress. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for an Academy Award. Andra Day, a talented artist and singer-songwriter who has roots in gospel music and blues with a passion for contemporary music is a strong performer and a gifted song-writer. Her debut on television was in shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods prior to making her feature film debut on the screen as Allyson Nelson in the horror film series Halloween and the sequels.
